@Joshi there was a similar game show from a few years ago where the grand prize was paying off student loans

surprisingly the social media reaction seemed to be "wow this has what society is now, huh? we live in hell"

I imagine Debt would've had the same had social media existed in 1997 beyond USENET and IRC
