New on the Secret Area: A fluff post of me talking about the Silent Scope Light Rifle, probably the most ridiculous light gun I own. https://asecretarea.com/2019/09/27/silent-scope-light-rifle/
uspol, rallies
I remember last year when I marched in an "abolish ICE" rally. It felt like some accomplishment, even if in the grand scheme of things I didn't do a whole lot besides walk several miles.
It's something I don't know if I could do again. I'm kinda afraid to do stuff like that alone these days considering some of the events that's happened in Portland over the past year.
uspol (sui mention)
I tend to keep at arm's reach with current politics.
When I was engrossed in it a year or so back, it made me incredibly depressed and suicidal. I eventually stopped earlier this year to keep myself sane.
I don't want people to think I'm apathetic, that I'm indifferent. I can support and help when I can to stop the rise of american fascism.
I just can't fight alongside you.
music ramblings (continued)
by the way, the original Mambo No. 5 is better than Lou Bega's sampled pop "cover."
If you want the version Bega used, hunt down "Big Hits by Prado." Also features Mambo No. 8, featured in Office Space!
music ramblings
Listening to Lou Bega's "A Little Bit of Mambo."
It's a strange album that alternates between being pop with excess sampling and sounding like classic mambo.
"I Got a Girl" sounds like him trying to make an immediate follow-up to "Mambo No. 5" and it sounds hokey. They both start with a countdown before he starts to sing!
I wasn't expecting anything amazing beyond his signature song "Mambo No. 5," and I was right. It's just so bizarre.
