"mastodon federation isn't hard to understand, it's just like e-mail"
I've never clicked on an e-mail the wrong way and ended up looking at it through the sender's e-mail client, which I can't interact with, instead of my own
@arborelia It's true that 90% of the time, you don't really have to know or care about the federation aspect of Mastodon - but the other 10% is still annoying
@arborelia That's because it seems computerfairi.es is still on Mastodon version 3.2.0,, all links are now opened in your own instance in 4.0 :(
@arborelia ... dd
I think my instance runs stock mastodon so this all makes me go "why???"
@arborelia I’ve been using my little finger and haven’t seen these effects. Am I missing out?
@arborelia I believe it's for keyboard navigation.
wow I figured out what I meant by "clicking on a toot the wrong way"
on this instance, if I click in the empty space below a toot, it opens it on the remote site, as opposed to clicking on the text, which expands it
This makes no sense so I filed it as a glitch-soc bug
