It gets better. If I pass the mouse pointer over the OneDrive tray icons, they all go away as soon as they find themselves under it.

when a tray application crashes, it doesn't tell windows to remove the tray icon
when you hover over a tray icon whose process is no longer running, windows realizes the icon isn't supposed to be there anymore and gets rid of it
your onedrive is crashing over and over!
