@maple honestly I have already thought a lot about this and what kinds of things such an organization could do and how it would get funding
obvs I only have experience in the US, but it would help connect people to services (disability, food stamps, insurance, subsidized housing) and help with paperwork & appeals, help connect people to jobs, and when needed help pay travel & housing & medical costs
@maple the idea being that grants and donations putting money in the pockets of poor queer kids can help in many circumstances but the same money can go further if we reduce the person in need's expenses and increase their income
so assign a case worker to each person who applies and work with them to access already-existing government services and programs
side effect is it's a lot cheaper to travel & survive on limited income with this kind of support so the ldr thing falls out naturally
