Are there ANY good ones that accept money from Canada?

Cash.me won’t take my northern socialist dollars.
Paypal is the worst in a field of offenders stubbornly, cruelly and pointlessly deadnaming trans people as the cost of accepting support. And their fees seek to exclude small donations.
Patreon isn’t that kind of a platform, and are also vultures.
There was that roll-your-own Patreon at some point? :/
The kofi one? Idk if that takes 🇨🇦

I may as well mail cash.

@cute_weeds Paypal does have a per-transaction fee now, which sucks bunches if you were planning to give less than like $50, yeah :( you can avoid deadnaming by converting your accounts to business accounts though, which doesn't change anything about how the site works except that you can change your display name and create/send invoices
kofi is just Paypal
liberapay is looking for a new payment processor but their plan is to do what you want, if you can wait a few months…

@atinyfairy @cute_weeds for what it's worth, converting to a business account doesn't work in certain countries - not because you can't do it, but because of other things. In Australia, I can't convert to a business account without submitting my Australian Business Number (which you can only get by making an application to the government) and setting my account name to be the same as that of my Business.

@lizardsquid @cute_weeds In both the US and Canada there's no documentation or fees necessary, you just follow a link on paypal's website and your account is converted
it sucks that it's not so simple elsewhere but it also sucks that we're at the mercy of a for-profit company to do what should be a government service
