if it helps, it doesn't actually affect the music as you hear it, it just groups stuff together when you're writing it down or thinking about it to make it easier. like spaces and punctuation and paragraphs when writing English!

@turbodragon it's usually longer than 30 minutes but there are a lot of RPGs that do this. One of the older examples is Dragon Quest IV, you go through a chapter for each character and then the last chapter is gathering all those people together for the final battle.
Final Fantasy Dimensions and Final Fantasy 4: The After both do this also for more recent examples, but there are a lot.
