More highlights from the impromptu game night

In which mavi draws my fan club

...and someone else fails to guess the prompt completely

Kink-related?

Just kidding, it's a music theory paper!
(The number on the left is what number harmonic it is, and the number in the middle is cents off unison; the text is interval names)

Alright. I can't figure out why multiboot breaks in higher half (I think it's getting pushed out of place, but I can't figure out how to push it back), so I've reverted the kernel back to not higher half. Now that it's booting again, here it is! A very early version of FENIX! (I told you it wasn't much.)

Pokemon

Different playthrough from the Nuzlocke. Really, Nintendo? I get pedo, but pedometer? Really? I'm half tempted to try "Scunthorpe," because that's the problem that's coming to mind.

slur, re: no context, a bit lewd

Fun fact: I used to refer to myself as an "actual furfag." In fact, here's an image of my fursona before I got Aura:

(I still kinda want that shirt.)

Let's talk about something less trivial: resource usage. This is something I care a lot about. (If you head to my website, you'll notice it uses very few resources.) Eclipse *majorly* fails here.

Let's compare some Pale Moon memory snapshots. (Images once again CW'd because d'oh.) Going off of these, Eclipse is using over twice as much memory as Pixiv and the old dA layout (revived by internet archive) and over 20 times more RAM than FA.

For comparison, here's Pixiv and FA. (under a CW because I forgot to censor some mildly lewd art on the Pixiv screenshot and bordline lewd on FA). Notice that Pixiv presents it immediately. There are other places to find that, but none of them present these janky notification dots. FA's system is basically dA but better. One place where you find new art and when you clear that, it stops bugging you. That's that.

So, UI design. It's not trivial, but unfortunately, there's one major oversight that is admittedly fairly minor, but I wouldn't be surprised if, as I explore further into Eclipse, it's actually a symptom of underlying issues.

The arrows in this picture point to where you can go to see what people you watch have posted. They do not link to the same place. The notification dots do not disappear in one place when you look at the other. If I clear watches under "Watch", the red dots don't go away

Hello from Haiku!

I have no plans to switch over to Haiku as a daily OS. (Not yet, anyways, but maybe one day!) I am running it on physical hardware, though. Specifically, I'm running it on my main laptop on a spare hard drive. WebPositive's a bit laggy, but, otherwise, it feels pretty nice. Maybe one day I will actually be able to run it instead of Arch.

A fun mess for those of you who also have an understanding of sheet music and chord naming*

*Disclaimer: Luka only has a basic understanding of these things. These names are intended to be *technically* correct, but might be *very* wrong.

re: language hot take

To translate my last toot:
"HAHA! I have my runic keyboard again!"

There it is in the Ibus configuration:
English - ᚠᚢᛏᚩᚱᚳ ᚱᚢᚾᛋ

Bullshit game design

Look at this ridiculousness. Half the town's on fire, the other half is covered in nuclear fallout. What's the biggest issue on the survivors' minds? The fact that taxes are at 20%. Not from the perspective of "Hey, tax the rich more to fix this mess" or anything like that but generic "MuH TaXEs ArE tOO HiGh!!" What kind of bullshit right-wing ideology leads you to develop a system this ridiculously bad?

Hello from Qubes! I've gotten it installed, now I need to do a lot of setup. Ah, well.

Stupid fucking techbros

Listen, dumbasses. If you really gave two shits about "separating the concepts of name...from gender identity," you wouldn't have made your stupid AI and sold it as a way to determine gender from name/whatever in the first place. Fuck the hell off.

Look! I made a website! Now I just need to actually put it on the internet!

on the black trans flag

So, I'm going to *massively* overstep my territory here, both as a white person and as decidedly *not* a graphic designer, but I'm not sure that flag edit works, aesthetically speaking. I'm not exactly sold (though I like the thought), and I feel it might be better to redesign the trans flag entirely, rather than edit it. I've included a mockup of what I think might work, but it needs work and input from BlPOC before it's ready to be used. (So don't go using it yet.)

I had a vague idea of what this whole "socialist teeth" thing was about, but now that I know...

SOCIALIST TEETH
