Honestly, though, I've not played with it myself, so I don't know how well it works (or if it works on android 4.4)
@mavica You might try KDE Connect. It's not exactly "remote access", but it does have remote media controls that should(?) work with droidsound. I don't know if you're looking to do anything else with it, but if that's all you're looking for, it should work pretty well
