random reminder about content warnings

a lot of people's use of content warnings is not to remove content from their feed. it's so they can see "oh, this is gonna be about depression, i should make sure i'm mentally ready to read it" before they do read it.

because filters to mute words don't have an option to place a CW over them automatically, filters are *not* always fitting for this - we want to see certain discussions of sexual assault, we just need that layer on top so that we don't run headfirst into a trigger unprepared.

Sloth: I always enjoy sleeping in, though the not wanting to do stuff gets old, 4/7

A discussion of vuln nicknames in a discord server I'm in

CVE or nickname?

General audience needs to know: Catchy nickname. Fuckin' kitsch it up. Heartbleed, spectre, meltdown. Whatever'll get it on the evening news.

Class of vulns, multiple CVEs, technical audience: A nickname is in order, though maybe don' t go too kitschy on this one.

Single vuln/Single CVE, technical audience: CVE.

Or, ya know, do whatever feels right. I'm not the boss of you. This is just my thoughts, but I'm no professional. Your thoughts are probably just as good as mine.

So, while I'm not cut out to be any of y'all's adopted mom (I'm not a good mother and I'm a bit young to be any of y'all's mom anyways), I will happily be your adopted cousin or sister. So, uh, if that's something you'd like, I'm here.

You ever just get a migraine right before class starts?
Yeah. Me, too.

Owwwwwwww.

raw emotion (with a not-so-small dash of love and caring for everyone, human or not), a fuckton of baryons (with a dose of leptons for good measure), and a light sprinkling of fox powder

My earth history professor misspoke when talking about how one of her graphs was out of date, and, well, she's not wrong, but I'm pretty sure she meant to say 7 *billion*, not 7

"There are way over 7 people on Earth."

I may be a bit weird. I found a thing in my house that said "please recycle" but didn't have the number to indicate what sort of plastic it was and it kinda just threw me off on this giant tangent of going through my house finding out what all the (labeled) plastics are. Turns out, it's almost exclusively PET, HDPE, and polypropylene. Foods aren't in HDPE, but, otherwise, it seems to be fair game on what it's made of. So, yeah. Fun tidbit of the day.

context

*More specifically*, it was part of me talking about how they seemed to come to breaking up rationally, but emotions can make it hard to let go. Hence, reason is emotion's bitch.

It's me trying to console a friend going through a breakup.

it's been months and i still have that thing stuck in my head that's like "i am a nonbinary, bisexual, switch. i have never made a decision in my life and i am not gonna start now"

re: kinda -, re: stuff from my daily life, jobs, gender

I mean, they're more diplomatic than that. They don't just send a "fuck you" to my email, but you get the idea.
