if you don't respect trans people and their identities, you are not a feminist, and you're invited to leave my fucking sight. good night
"hello yes FOSS could use a better interface"
"you are to blame for privacy violations in FOSS and you alone, not the organizations in charge or the governments demanding mass surveillance"
My pride month retrospective: I've been hearing a lot of things about "visibility" and that pride is about "being seen" this year.
I think we need to surpass that.
Pride shouldn't just be about being seen, it should be about being heard.
Being seen means people know we exist. Being heard means people know what we want.
lgbtq people being relegated to a spectacle to be seen is infantilizing and objectifying (think "women/children are meant to be seen, not to be heard").
This mindset reinforces the idea that pride shouldn't just be boxed into a 30 day annual event. We should be loud and proud all year round until we're listened to and beyond that. Also the idea that pride isn't just a vanity fair but a time for activism and speaking up.
"Pride was a riot" after all.
Being heard rejects corporate pandering. It's not enough for our flags to be put up on company logos. I want trans health care, good representation, equal treatment in the workplace, end to homelessness & conversion therapy & discrimination.
Pride is about being seen? Of course we deserve to be seen. We also deserve to be heard, for our stories to be told, and for our demands to be listened to.
This is just something that's been on my mind. Happy #GayWrathMonth
*Because I'm bored, there is a small asterisk I'll note here. 1A schools are not done by size, but instead are the schools that are too small to play 12-man football and instead do 6-man. From the remaining schools, they then define 6A from the largest schools, then 5A, then 4A, then 3A, and the remainder (like the school district I went to) get lumped into 2A.
From a teacher recruiting email mom got:
"We are a small community just outside [REDACTED] and are a 6A high school."
Now, for those of you unfamiliar with how the UIL classifies schools, the classifications go from 1A to 6A based on size*. 6A schools are the biggest of the big. "Small community". Uh-huh.
most humans are actually nice and don't want to literally murder each other all the time and if someone tells you otherwise they're just trying to justify themselves being a shitbag imo
Genshin Impact
So, a while back, I found a GIF of the KDA girls where Ahri tries to pull off Evelynn's(?) glasses only for there to be another pair, and piles form around them as she keeps trying only for more to be underneath. Do you think the same thing would happen if you tried pulling off Kaeya's eyepatch?
Genshin Impact
Voice lines in the game also have me wondering who makes the better breakfast: Noelle or Fischl?
Genshin Impact
So, one of Noelle's voice lines has me thinking:
1) "Inherited from my grandfather" my ass,
2) Do you think Kaeya has a special eyepatch he pulls out specifically for when he needs to pull the "inherited from my grandfather" bullshit? Maybe he actually did inherit one and he saves it for those occasions? And,
3) Do you think Kaeya has a bulk supplier of eyepatches? I mean, from the sound of it, he buys a lot of them. Surely someone sells them to him in bulk
Well, not sure if the blog post I mentioned yesterday will get finished tonight. One of the temples on my glasses came off and I'm waiting for the glue to dry, so for the next couple hours, I don't have the ability to see clearly more than maybe half a meter, so trying to write a blog post is right out
