Re: No context

You know, actually, if you were to come up with the ability to go back in time, you could really have some fun by going back in time, killing, say, Andrew Jackson, then going forward well past any human lifetime and getting yourself thrown in jail for assassinating a president over 100 years prior. (Well, I say "fun". You'd be stuck in jail for assassinating a president. But it would make a fun story in a history book.)

Re: No context

Okay, so I did some looking and it turns out there is no statute of limitations on presidential assassination, so if you were actually the one on the grassy knoll, I'd maybe keep that fact quiet and just keep pretending it was Oswald.

"I mean, I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations for the assassination of John F. Kennedy has already passed, so..."

I should point out that this is very much a unique thing. None of the others advertise working on AIX. A few say Linux, but none say AIX. Why is this available on AIX? Which hospital (system) are they advertising towards?

I was looking through a lab magazine's comparison of lab information systems and, uh, was not expecting to find this:

USPol, Trans Rights

Yesterday, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey had a site put up to narc on trans people in Missouri (and likely out of state, too):

ago.mo.gov/file-a-complaint/tr

However, the site doesn't do any kind of bot filtering, data validation, or even location validation (so long as you use a VPN and switch locations up!).

With that, class... UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER SHOULD YOU USE THE FOLLOWING SCRIPT TO FLOOD THE SITE WITH FALSE INFORMATION!! That would be very, very naughty!! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

"Well, okay, you can shit at work but you'll have to use the patient restroom that we disabled the lock on."

"Sorry, you're no longer allowed to shit at work. You've exceeded the radiation dose limit for the year."

So, I'm enjoying my stint here at the cancer center and all, the patients are nice and all that fun stuff, but, like, did they have to put the staff bathroom right next to the X-ray room?! Every time I hear the noise it makes, I start to wonder just how much of a dose of radiation I'm getting. Who'd have thought I'd need a dosimeter just to use the restroom...

I need tech nerds online to understand something:

LMGTFY was only meant to be used for things that actually give you quick results when you Google them, something that is less and less common these days with how bad Google is, and was never the case for obscure niche answers.

RTFM requires there to be a manual with the answers in the first place.

If these conditions aren't met then you're just showing you're an asshole that doesn't know the answer.

On the bright side, at least all of this sitting here doing nothing counts as being here, so it's 8 more hours towards the 180 hour requirement. I mean, granted, I would have preferred that 8 hours be spent actually practicing sticking patients, but still. I guess I'll take it.

Literally the most exciting thing to happen today was getting to draw that single patient. It would have been getting to see how they do port draws, but it took 3 hours to finally get that guy (it was at around 11:00) and we haven't had any since.
