Advice I would give my younger self: if someone has a reputation for fighting for a cause you believe in, that says nothing about whether they are a kind person. If you meet or interact with them, it will go as well as if you met someone at random you've never heard of.
If someone has a reputation for kindness, then meeting them will probably go well. I've never regretted meeting someone after a person I trust said of them "Wow person xyz is the nicest, kindest human being I know."
“white feminism did not change the gendered distribution of labor, it merely outsourced it to black women. Paraphrasing this claim, I argue that when gays and lesbians adopted a gender normative model of homosexuality, they outsourced the deviance status to gender variant individuals” (Katri, 2017) damning tbh
anti-discrimination law w/r/t transness as it's currently pursued threatens to outsource "deviance" once more, to non-passing trans folks, or trans folks without stable employment, or trans PoC, or to GNC people who don't ID as trans, or to non-binary people, or to trans people who can't or don't want to medically transition in one or more ways
nazi
Ok, so I saw some shit about Milo beefing with Spencer.
What I didn't see was anyone talking about how a CUNY professor got outed as a nazi co-host on Spencer's show.
CUNY is full of immigrants and POC, and this Josh Deitz motherfucker was teaching classes there?
This feels like an example of the fediverse being so white that nobody cared to mention this. I saw plenty of shitposts making fun of how ridiculous the beef was, tho.
a bug, not a feature.
