so how fast of an overclock do you think this 400MHz Celeron can handle? :3c

now keep in mind, all i can do is change the FSB

its multiplier is locked at x6.0

as it stands:

-Totally stable at 400, 450, 500, and 540.

-Hangs while loading Windows at 570 (bluescreens in safe mode)

-Hangs right as Windows tries to load at 600

-Won't POST at any higher settings

note that all these settings are (presumably) safe for the RAM (which uses the FSB speed unmultiplied) as it's PC133

also worth noting is the chipset (particularly the SiS620 North Bridge) gets extremely hot at anything higher than 600 (and is pretty hot at anything above 400 really)

also the in-bios hardware monitor has the CPU temp peaking at 58 C

keep in mind that's bios idle, which is a high idle

@azushark do you think it'd melt if you tried to push 600

@Vixlia fwiw it at least boots at 600

can't make it into Windows tho

@azushark that's more than i thought would happen... you think it could maybe go to 480 then?

@Vixlia if an 80MHz fsb setting existed, sure

there's an 83.3 that brings it to 500 tho (which it's stable at~)

@azushark ooh, i was nervous to ask you to try for the full 500 but that's pretty good!

@azushark the temperature sensors on processors are on-die sensors so Tcase is probably a lot lower than what the sensors say; they're measuring Tjunction
