I don't know what you could mean by digested more slowly, but lactose(46 to 65) and fructose(19 to 27) have a similar glycemic index [1](doi:10.1017/S0007114500001094) with fructose being lower. Both are 4kcal/g. Im not saying lactose and fructose are the same, the idea that fruitsugar is bad less than great

I also hate america, its lack of healthly food options and recreational spaces. Along with Gerber for lots of reasons. But fear of sugar and fat phobia don't help. Simple carbohydrates from natural sources are good for you.
