I really need help my lizards in critical condition; she is saveable BUT I need money to help her. I don't want to have to put her down when she absolutely could have lived. I can't speak for all Asian Americans, but I can (kinda?) support this anecdotally. My grandma (from Thailand) voted for the orange buffoon that haunts my nightmares because she LIKES his immigration policies. "If I came here legally, so can they." At least in my family, it's a cultural sense of "justice". And its narrow. My grandma isn't going to sympathize with the deported, they're not her people in her eyes.
