Mastodon, fediverse meta (~)
Mastodon isn't good.
Fediverse isn't good.
They have their own problems. Other problems get perpetuated, but guess what.
It is a hell of a lot better than Twitter, because here we can do something at least.
And there are people to help you empower even more.
I take the fediverse over Twitter every time, because here I can actually help people.
I blame myself for Mastodon dying. I haven’t done enough shitty political posts about what if Trump was gay for Putin. #theresistance

OK, I do agree with the notion that the features aren't picked well and that some are not good.
The reason seems too much leaned onto Twitter again, but are valid.
Though, I have other reasons and there are Msatodon alternatives (pleroma being the most popular)

Honestly, I hope they stay on Twitter and stop writing BS like this, but well.
At least she gets her 15 minutes of fame.

"[...] Some users chat about democratic socialism [...]"
"Visiting Mastodon feels like strolling through the first “apolitical” social network. [...]"
Is this journalism now?
Holy fucking shit.
OK, this is 3 parapgraphs and a picture, but just
wow
just
WOW

First paragraph is already quite telling.
"[...] It runs off a decentralized social media software called Mastodon, and is part of a much larger network of Mastodon communities."
It's also a lot of pleroma and other software instances, not only Mastodon, but OK
Showing off how much the fediverse is understood already.
I agree though, this is not Twitter and that's good

To sum the first part up:
Because people aren't constantly enraged about some fastfood and constantly talk about 45 and are, more or less, just as a hell site as Twitter that causes constant anxiety and you have to fight off bad faith people 100% of the time,
it's apolitical and bad.
Because that's the only politics that exist, ever. If you are not constantly enraged, you are not political, that author says so.
