adblocking

@diodelass I would call adblocking ethically obligatory. Like washing your hands before cooking for other people

The state is the most gigantic criminal extant. It manufactures criminals much faster than it punishes them.

adblocking

@diodelass this pretty much sums it up for me too.

In the past I'd say "what if everybody blocked?" and wouldn't install blockers. Now I'm all "everybody should definitely block", it's the fastest way out of this surveillance machine.

adblocking

@diodelass "any site that relies on ad revenue is part of the problem" is a decent-ish summary of how i feel these days

adblocking

I also won't pay subscriptions, because I can't afford them. That's fine - if you can make the subscription model work, then good for you; what I can and can't afford is on me. However, somehow, I suspect that the "threat" of pushing subscription-based models as an undesirable endgame is really more of a plea to get us to bail you out of going there, because you know it won't work.

adblocking

I literally could not possibly care less if adblocking kills your website. Good fucking riddance, honestly. I really, really do not care who you are or how wholesome your goals are - if you rely on ad revenue to stay alive, you're already dead sooner or later anyway, and it's not my job to care. Find another way to fund your operations.

adblocking

at this stage I really just don't have any patience for any of the arguments about whether or not adblocking is "ethical."
I'm going to block as many ads as I can. No, you can't stop me. No, if you try, I'll just leave and use some other website. No, it's not theft. No, I don't give a shit. Get off my lawn.

today's gender is a resurgence of debilitating social phobia

trans stuff, some personal experiences (+ overall, imo)

so like, of course everybody's experience of being trans is going to be different, but a lot of people have overlap in their experiences and go "oh! me too!" i feel like i have some? kind of? but i also feel like as a nonbinary/nontrinary person there's something markedly different for me and people like me. not bad or anything!! i just think it's interesting and worth thinking about
