So a friend of mine keeps responding to my anarchist ideas with "food deserts" as a critique, and I have been unable to retaliate until I realized: trains. A large network of trains to isolated places in the country could keep food deserts from forming by enabling the transfer of food to and from rural areas.
Discussion - Bell Hooks, Homophobia and Transphobia
@PaladinQuinn And there's.... definitely *some* aspect of homophobia that's rooted in sexism, but I feel like there's more to it, and I can't quite put my finger on what it is.
Discussion - Bell Hooks, Homophobia and Transphobia
Bell Hooks suggests that Homophobia is entirely rooted in sexism whereas Amber and I would argue that is is definitely more fitting to say this for Transphobia/Misia, because a lot of Homophobia rooted in Morality from Religion and twisted perceptions of teaching, do you think we are wrong?
politics(+), join a union
@MapleDeer This is why there's so much company-lead hate towards unions: When done right, they fucking *work*.
politics(+), join a union
@MapleDeer Start affecting the affluent's ability to travel and things start to get done, that's wild
@danishcookies Hold on while I write up my boost buddy needs some clout, go annoy them and asked them "If God created the carbon and iron and oxygen that makes Wound Cubes also makes "clear blood" and isn't that just can't get over the place haphazardly or just from twitter or masto, or where my computer is and can be known, but I'm less of a lazerdisc.
@danishcookies thank you 🧡
the one thing i can honestly say i learnt thanks to my university studies that i dont think id have figured out elsewhere
everything is messier and more complex than any of us are willing to admit, and we should be talking about it in much simpler terms than people who are interested in the messiness and complexity will ever be willing to do
You ever think about how the ultra wealthy put out a lot of propaganda about communism taking the food out of poor people's mouths when really it just redistributes their millions and billions that poor people already don't have and this is a big reason why it's hard to unite the proletariat? Because they think we're coming for their remaining $50 when we're telling coming for this dude's $50 million.
#Hamburg Coal Port occupied ! – #ClimateJustice instead of Coal Commission – Phasing out hard coal and lignite NOW! http://dlvr.it/QxbntM
@Ferretsyndicate The fact that the entire thing folded within hours of the first signs of a strike makes me think that the US establishment is so convinced workers won't strike that they would be powerless against it if it were to happen on a massive scale.
We have plenty of strikes here, they are generally long winded affairs and tend to end unsatisyingly. Seeing a small scale action achieve its goals instantly screams opportunity.
