re: ennui, alc ref
@porsupah That sounds like a cidery/brewery to have fun at! I can only imagine what our beer fridge(s) would look like after a trip to there. We've got one cidery over here (on the island I call home) that makes perry with Asian pears, and manages to capture that amazing crispness.
Not that I'm drinking right now, this past week (and some) has been a pretty rough one health-wise. Currently I've got Covid, caught it in the hospital last week.
re: ennui, alc ref
@porsupah AFAIK Brown Shugga is still making its seasonal runs. Cider had a little problem with the people promoting it hyping the "gluten-free" aspect, and the amount of mass-market cider that's just sugary alco-pops. One of our fave cideries just went under as a result. They did some brilliant ciders *sigh*.
re: ennui, alc ref
@porsupah We see St. Bernardus over here with somewhat more regularity. We finally found a place that gives us a chance to get some of our Belgian favourites shipped to us, avoiding the problem of the East Coast buying the entire allotment before we even have a chance. It costs an arm & a leg of course, but those are the breaks, I guess. If there are any west coast/PNW US brews you want, maybe we can work out a trade.
re: ennui, alc ref
@porsupah Always preferred Westvleteren 8 myself. Though it's bitterly hard to get any of their stuff over here.
This is why so much of the GOP and far-right seems so stupid, why Fox "News" seems to focus so hard on stupid shit so often. It's all a marketing gimmick.

You will take that deal and be on probation / parole.
Even if innocent.
Q: Why is inequality in the USA twice as high as that of Spain?
A: Racism. My thread from yesterday explained the ways in which systemic racism is designed to siphon net welath from Black people, but I don't think folks appreciate the scale.
Civil asset forfeiture alone steals more wealth than "all other forms of burglary combined."
Black median net wealth is on trajectory to be zero by 2053.🤷🏿♂️
@deadrose they have electrical ones too!
I really enjoyed the concept of a hard drive as a prayer wheel. It's technically correct in all aspects and it makes me think about What Is Language Anyway.
@indi It ought to, considering there are wind-driven prayer wheels.
@porsupah That's odd, my daughter's on pixie.town and they're pretty good at keeping the evil blocked.

re: CW: pet health
@porsupah Mine wasn't very mellow as she'd never really been a pet, she was a retired breeder that I took in. But I gave her a happy home with good food and a running wheel for her last year or so. I was hopelessly uncreative and just called her "Tiggy".
re: CW: pet health
@porsupah I've had pets any time I was even halfway settled & living in a place that would allow them. I even bred fancy mice for a while, sweet little satin-coated longhaired balls of floof. I've had reef tanks, iguanas, hedgehogs, and all manner of creatures.

My big beautiful boy boa Sebastian has left us. He was old, in his late 20s, and he'd been acting depressed since his mate died. (Seriously, I know I shouldn't attribute human emotions, but he acted as if he was pining for her).
It's a sad day as he was the last of our pets, and with me ill, we're not likely to get any others.
Possibly left by aliens. Making the world stranger for over half a century.
