if someone asks me to CW for some relatively harmless shit than i will simply ask them to leave.

If you’re new to Mastodon, you may at some point find that you’re being pressured to put your posts behind a content warning (CW). Although CWs make sense for things like images of violence or nudity, some people are bullying others to put CWs on discussions of politics, racism, etc.
Please know that you should not feel pressured to obey these individuals. They do not speak for all. If someone does not want to be exposed to these topics, Mastodon gives them all the tools they need to avoid them, such as keyword filters and the ability to block or mute people who are posting things they don’t like.

not to be gross and sappy but i appreciate my fiance so much for putting up with me today. ive been so grumpy and shit just kept going wrong but he made my day better regardless

otherkinity is very important to me and how i navigate life, unfortunately

@celyandil that is honestly my main concern as well, is how difficult it’s becoming to find others that are similar. as well as the fact that “‘kin” is really the only term to properly describe my experiences, and i would prefer not having that term taken from me

@celyandil ive heard that term, as well as “synpath” i believe. maybe it’s just been my bad luck, but most of the people i come across nowadays who use the term “kin” tend to spread misinformation like “being otherkin isn’t that serious, we don’t actually believe we’re this” or “it’s just for fun” or etc. it’s a bit frustrating

im very tired today but my fiance is taking me to get sushi so i guess i should get my shit together

@celyandil it’s an otherkin thing, about how people have sort of co-opted the term to mean “i relate to this” instead of “in some shape or form i literally am this”

actually i was on tumblr for so long- since 2010 maybe- that it feels more like i was trying to have a chill house party with my friends but then it got crashed by a bunch of rude ass kids who started yelling at me to get out of my own house

i like mastodon it feels like a chill house party compared to twitter which feels like an actively burning building and tumblr which feels like im chaperoning a high school dance with the worst teenagers imaginable

cats are good companion animals for mentally ill people that need a gentler approach to recovery. dogs are good companion animals for those of us that need an ass kicking from time to time to keep from spiraling

i cant believe i ever thought i was a cat person. cats are good and everything but i prefer dogs so much more
