It saddens me to watch friends who complain bitterly that they feel alone and disconnected, but also constantly lash out at everyone around them.
me after Thanksgiving 2019: "that was almost too many people to fit in the house! I wish I had a way to handle the size of the event for next year"

PEOPLE OF CALIFORNIA, the season of Won't Rain has ended. Today is the first day of Might Rain, so please look out in the yard and remind yourself of all the objects you may have left outside for the last 9 months assuming they couldn't possibly get wet, and bring them in now
already crying in the shower and the apocalypse hasn't even started yet.
now explaining to my european friend that "chicken fingers" and "hand turkeys" are unrelated concepts. it's a common misconception i guess!

if I say that one of my coworkers is "quite a character", it means that I fantasize about driving over them with an industrial riding mower and then laughing a hearty belly laugh as their guts are sprayed in a fine pink mist into the wind and taken away forever
We weren't comfortable with table service at restaurants but we did get to cook ourselves some decent meals! Now back to the grind...
hey I left the house! We had a lovely weekend of hiking out on the coast for our anniversary. Was good to get away for a bit.

it just occurred to me that since nobody will be having an office Halloween party this year, there will be no campus security restrictions on face covered costumes... Sorely tempted to wear my fursuit to a team meeting!
