haven't used my RGB30 in ages & they're notorious for battery problems so I opened it to check for swellage & it LOOKS fine but I still don't really trust it... hmm...

I wish there was a place you could go to that was just like a fireproof room with power points where you could try charging dubious batteries and make sure they don't explode

@lion @lion Perhaps one of the LiPo storage bags designed for RC vehicles might be good to keep on hand?

I have one from way back when I used to do RC racing and it sure feels like it could survive quite a serious blast!

@LightTheUnicorn yeah I do have one of those, I bought it back when I had a laptop battery swell up & I needed to carry it to a recycling place. if I charge it I'll do it in that I guess

As far as I understand it they won't really contain a fire for very long, they're just designed to buy you enough time to chuck it outside if one starts. Better than nothing though

@lion Yeah that kinda one! For sure won’t keep things fully contained, but definitely a lot better than having the things in open air!

@lion When I’ve needed to test unknown and potentially spicy batteries, I’ve always charged them outside on concrete away from anything flammable. But that’s not advice, probably shouldn’t do that.
