I really liked both Leeds and Liverpool city centres themselves but I think Liverpool edges it in terms of like, decent areas to actually live in with affordable houses
The immediate outskirts of Leeds seem to have not much going on & while there are good places further out they seem to be expensive

Manchester is great but it's getting expensive these days... also all my family lives around there and I'm sorry I love them but I don't want to be TOO close
i haven't ruled Manchester out anyway but i'm casting my net out to other northern places, this is why I visited Leeds and Liverpool last year

Show thread

for a bit of context - I'm from somewhere near Manchester, moved to London 15 years ago for work & have stayed here ever since. Now my work is remote so I can live anywhere. And I've saved enough for a deposit on a house but definitely not a London house. So I probably want to fuck back off up north

just been watching the first 2 episodes of elusive samurai season 2 it's still very good

it's overlong but you can't shorten it because if you just say "beat the beat" no one will know what you're talking about. also it sounds like beat the meat. also it makes the series title the subtitle so it doesn't even fit with the other games. bad

Show thread

you know i will 95% use the european localised name for any video game that has different regional titles because a) it's what i know and b) i refuse to participate in the americanisation of gaming history but i have to unfortunately draw the line at "beat the beat: rhythm paradise"
