other problems with khajiit
@Rosemary @lizardsquid @Daylight Khajiit have an improbably wide variety of body plans. The Cathay (Oblivion, Skyrim) are plantigrade, while the Suthay-raht (Morrowind) are digitigrade and have a more feline face. Other variants range from the Ohmes (almost human) to the Senche-raht (quadrupeds twice as tall as a human at the shoulder).

@Terrana @Rosemary @lizardsquid @Daylight The Ohmes showed up in Arena and Daggerfall, didn't they?
Also fun: That variety of body plans is not subspecies or anything--it's based on, if we remember right, the phase of the moon when the khajiit is born
@Felthry @Rosemary @lizardsquid @Daylight Moons, plural. There are two moons, and which of the body types a khajiit gets is determined by the combination of their phases.
That's the theory, anyway. Considering all the khajiit in a given area tend to be the same kind, I think genetics has more to do with it than the theory suggests.
@Terrana @Rosemary @lizardsquid @Daylight I think that was broadly, and not entirely convincingly, explained in the canon as "only the cathay, suthay-raht, and ohmes ever leave the khajiit homeland" (I have forgotten the name of the khajiit homeland)
@Felthry @Rosemary @lizardsquid @Daylight Elsweyr. In practice, it's down to how much time the art team can devote to it.

@lizardsquid @Daylight And so were the argonians, oddly enough.
