Talking about a Let's Play series and Communities
So there's a show that got me into Let's Plays, called "Spoiler Warning Show".
It started as a side project of Shamus Young's blog, where he got himself and a few others to do somewhat analytical playthroughs of games.
I found Shamus Young through his blog, then after a lot of ignoring it, I started watching Spoiler Warning.
And I loved it a lot!

Now, Shamus had a policy on his comments, which was "anyone can post stuff, as long as they are civil". If you know anything about community management, you will know that this allows nasty people to infest your community under the vestage of being polite.
And this is what happenned - people were pushed out of the community because unsavoury people kept being given a platform, and defended by Shamus himself.

A year and a half ago, I stopped watching - not because I was sick of the show, but because I was sick of Shamus - I had stopped bothering to check his blog, and his contributions to the actual show had become much more begrudging, and his comments in episodes were often pointlessly negative.
And after I stopped, the community situation got even worse - most notably, Mumbles left the show because of the huge amount of shit she faced.

And around 6 months ago, the spoiler warning crew kicked shamus out. They stopped putting episodes on his blog, and started their own site for it. They didn't invite him back for future episodes, and have been running it the way they want to, instead of as the side project of a man who doesn't even care for it anymore.
The main reason they kicked him out is because of his failure as a community manager to actually produce a healthy community.

Over the years, I read less of the blog posts, and just watched Spoiler Warning. At the peak of me watching the show, it was hosted by
Shamus (a writer)
Josh (a guy who plays games a lot)
Mumbles (a witty wrestling fan (and also the only girl on the show))
Chris (a video game analyser)
and Rutskarn (a comedian and fiction-analyser)
