openmw (morrowind) [1]
I'm getting back into (modded) Morrowind!
I'm playing an Argonian named Between-Swamps.
Also: heck this game is pretty sometimes
@lizardsquid Oh, I didn't realize openmw was ever finished!
@Rosemary they've been working on it for quite some time!
@lizardsquid We should install it then! Morrowind is one of the best games we've ever played and it'd be nice to play again on an improved engine.
I wonder if Skywind will ever be finished.
@Rosemary Skywind looks pretty cool too, but that's possibly a lot further off - they have to remake the content AND the code of morrowind, whereas OpenMW is "just" an engine, you tell it where morrowind's data files are it uses those for all the assets and quests and such.
@lizardsquid Oh, I'm sure Skywind is going to take a while. I just hope it doesn't get abandoned, and actually does get finished sometime.
Morroblivion seems like it would be an easier engine update, since the game mechanics are much more similar between those two, but they seem to have shifted focus to Skywind exclusively for now.
