I can't read this in mastodon's default font, heck
@lizardsquid I can! but I am not familiar with the symbol ⟨ɻ⟩. What does it represent?
@Felthry it's the retroflex approximant - so it's similar to the typical /ɹ/ sound in English dialects, except pronounced with the tongue curled so that the tip is pointing backwards.
(my difficulty with this is that my brain wants to see the ɻ and p as a single combined symbol, when they actually aren't)
