Here's a picture of the alphabet I'm using in a language I'm making! https://computerfairi.es/media/YzzL1LlMNVn92ytwM98
I decided that the people who speak this language come from a fictional European country that only partially exists in our reality, and so they only had passing contact with the other European languages - their language is not an Indo-European language at all, but since most of their contact with writing systems is european, they adapted the Latin alphabet
@lizardsquid What are the phonemic values of the different letters?
@Felthry I just wrote that out, I'm gonna post it in 3 seconds
@lizardsquid
That is the best justification I've heard yet for this. Have you heard of Snorsh?
http://wiki.loadingreadyrun.com/index.php/Snorsh
@DialMforMara I have heard of snorsh!
@lizardsquid Excellent. Will you be watching Desert Bus when it starts at the end of the week?
@DialMforMara probably not, I have difficulty with desert bus because I either can't focus on it or I hyperfocus on it and forget to eat
@lizardsquid Welp. Thank bus for the video strike team, then; you can take it in small doses.
I will have it on in the background for as long as I can; sadly, it starts during my regular Friday morning meeting.
@lizardsquid ooh, now do the phonotactics!
No digraphs, I see?
@Felthry no digraphs! \o/
@Felthry stuff I know so far:
Word order: OSV
morphology: fusional
accusative alignment
has a bunch of noun classes
verbs are inflected based on a lot of things, but notably they agree with the object
phonotactics are what I'm working on right now
@lizardsquid @Felthry hey cheers, did you go anywhere with this?
here's a picture with the pronounciations underneath (using the International Phonetic Alphabet) https://computerfairi.es/media/NVqw3rLMaVOQoADCwns
