huh i just remembered an idea i had for a multiplayer horror game
someone ping me tomorrow (later today?) and remind me to talk about it when i'm awake lol

so i kinda partially came up with this idea from watching YouTube people play gmod horror maps with friends and thinking about how the multiplayer aspect kinda broke the horror and in some cases just outright broke the map if it wasn't meant for mp

so i thought, like, how could one make a horror game *intended* for multiplayer and have it be actually scary?

(btw this is something i talked with my friend Clem with a while back so she contributed to this idea a lot too)

and we kinda concluded that the key was limiting communication.

imagine a game where instead of direct voice chat, your voice actually comes out of where your character is in-game, with all the limitations that entails.

you also have a walkie-talkie to communicate over longer distances, but it's a) a bit unreliable (certain factors can cause interference) and b) it makes a fair bit of noise, which isn't a big problem... unless you're hiding from something.

@literallyfenic ooo yes, cutting off contact between players and making them desperate to find each other again, or not knowing what the other person's going through
