So, in brief, I really love Breath of the Wild but I have Serious Questions for anyone who gave this game a perfect score or hails it as one of the best games ever made. It's fantastic, but seriously flawed and far from perfect.

@lizardsquid It's gonna take me some time to unpack everything and I know damn-well it won't fit in a single toot, so I'll have to find some alternative to masto.
tl;dr - There was no story, which is one of the big draws for me; shrines are neat, but I miss dungeons; Korok seeds are bad; I love the characters and world but never had enough time to connect to any of them; the equipment system is balls. Those are the big flaws IMO.

@lizardsquid THAT SAID! The exploration is WONDERFUL, the game is fucking gorgeous, it created in me a sense of wonder I haven't felt since perhaps Oblivion (or maybe even not that!). I tried to finish this game like 3 times before tonight but I could never do it because I wasn't DONE yet. I really did enjoy the fuck out of BotW. It's a fantastic game. But because I love it, I'm going to be hard on it.
