@lizardsquid I don't know if they exist in Australia. They're basically the same as banks, but the big difference is they're owned by their members as opposed to, like, shareholders, CEOs, etc.
My mum always put it this way: you're a MEMBER of a credit union; you're a CUSTOMER of a bank.
@lizardsquid They really are, and it's not like you lose out on services or anything. CUs do everything banks do and, honestly, they tend to do it better because, in all technicality, they work for you, so they're trying to get YOU the best options instead of some suits somewhere in New York.
Like I said, I don't know if you guys have them down there, but if you do I highly recommend you consider switching~
