@desikitteh yes, there is! In settings, you can choose a user name and just give that to other people. The best thing is that it's not permanent, so if it somehow got too public and people who you don't want to talk to are messaging you, you could just (block them all and then) change it and they wouldn't be able to find you any more.

@Sunflowermind@mastodon.social aaah yes that's annoying. But for most of my telegram contacts, I don't have their number, just their name. So I can't talk to them anywhere else, unless I ask them for their number. But… I'd rather just ask them for another name, idk, numbers are so weird!

I just realised that people who use Whatsapp more than Telegram have never stopped having people's numbers

Phone numbers are so weird. I thought we were over them, but the fact that Signal uses them means both that I don't use Signal a lot and that I should probably start collecting people's numbers again. This feels so retro. What is next, actually talking to people by voice?

@desikitteh ah :) I saw your introduction toot and it was probably the combination of everything you wrote, plus the extra fact that I am always inclined to follow fellow nonbinary people. Oh and I don't knit myself, but I always enjoy people talking about their projects and maybe posting pictures and such!

Tbh I used to be very much into the lucid dreaming fandom (not lucid dreaming itself, necessarily…) and all I remember is some mp3 that had water noise or music or something and a voice saying "I will remember to check my reality" over and over x)

For some reason Steam always thinks I'd enjoy some Deponia sequels. I have never enjoyed any game less than Deponia. Ever. Ugh.

…ah but it's also the only game that I ever finished, soooooo ok I guess I can see where that comes from.

Ok so Life is Strange Episode 1 is free on Steam. I wasn't planning to play that ever because it doesn't sound like a thing I'd enjoy, but eh, I guess, why not :>

Update, "Storm Season" turned out to be a really nice book that I enjoyed a lot even though it's not a genre that usually works for me. Everyone is queer and I wanted them all to be happy, which kind of happened.

I went and liked some negative reviews of The Magicians on Goodreads, now I feel better

@mona @kara_dreamer I like it because its short, and I mean my guesses went into the right direction, I just thought the word had a confusingly different tone to it than it actually seems to have.
