I think not long ago I said that using Goodreads and Librarything worked ok for me…

Actually, I'm back to hating both. Why are they so terrible. Librarything is one huge compromise and really only ok as "I don't want to be ONLY on Goodreads", and I don't think Goodreads is even trying to be good at anything beyond the very necessities of book reviewing.

(Tell me of any alternatives that you might know, please.)

@ThatVeryQuinn oh and you might find something on https://www.coursera.org/, if that's something that works for you. it's at least… interactive-ish and usually video based.

@ThatVeryQuinn It's not interactive in the sense that codecademy is, more like… snippets of information with quizzes that are often a bit silly in between, but http://sololearn.com/ has been useful for me. at least the course that i tried doesn't work well on its own though, it is very superficial, but it has helped me a few times when I just couldn't read any better explanations.

i've had some luck with videos, but i don't have any recommendations there.

@nicolai Deswegen, auch, wenn es sicher möglich wäre, daraus irgendetwas positives mitzunehmen, möchte ich das jedenfalls nicht mit 1. Menschen, die das Buch hauptsächlich toll und reflektiert finden und 2. über social media versuchen. Austausch gern, aber in einem Rahmen, der nicht "rechtfertige dich" impliziert, sondern tatsächlich "lernen wir was voneinander".

Deswegen, jetzt tatsächlich nichts mehr von meiner Seite dazu :)

@nicolai Dazu muss ich auch sagen, die Teile, die ich gelesen hab, haben auf so viele verschiedene Arten kacke gewirkt, dass ich das mit "sauber argumentiert" klar ausschließe und auch keine Lust hab, mich zu den wahrscheinlich ja echt irgendwo verborgenen guten Punkten vorzuarbeiten. Und die Aufmerksamkeit, die plötzlich Till Amelung bekommt, beginnt schon spürbar, nicht-normativen trans Personen zu schaden. Das ist ein ziemlich feindseliger und schiefer Grund für Austausch.

@nicolai Naja, jetzt in diesem Gespräch muss das ja nicht unbedingt sein. Mein Problem damit ist vor allem, dass Beißreflexe ja nicht unbedingt neue Fragen aufwirft. Und das Fandom dann Antworten darauf möchte, eindeutige, von "der queeren Szene" und allen, die wirken, als würden sie der angehören. Da krieg ich so ein bisschen das Gefühl von… bisher hat das ja auch niemanden interessiert, warum jetzt plötzlich? Und wer drischt auf wen ein? Ist das Buch selbst sauber argumentiert?
