London Manufacturing Robot isn't sure humans belong in tech

Really happy with that navigation app that I found as an alternative to Google #Maps:

MAPS.ME, see maps.me/en/home

It is based on #OpenStreetMap data, but has a much better user experience than the other app that I tried.
It works with offline maps, so I don't use up so much mobile data on my trip. And it navigated me really well today, on foot, twice.
So, yay for alternative to the evil data gatherer! :)

Someone asked me to do a radio interview about my trans bicycle club thing that barely even exists it's so new. I said yes. Help? Please? Anybody have any advice about how to give an interview?

I have Radioactive by Imagine Dragons on some playlist, and I'm always so disappointed when it comes up and it starts good but then it's not the Ylvis mashup thingie, the "big blue eyes, pointy nose, it's a revolution I suppose" thingie that I really like

also why does the editor have a dark grey background, is this actively trying to keep me from using it (there is no ~light theme~ option anywhere I checked)

oh dear fucking god codecademy you're not keeping me motivated by forcing me to learn what "greater than or equal to" means for the 70th time in my life

So… The Codecademy Python course is Python 3 now

I tried it and it is still Codecademy, it is incredibly boring, slow and actually learning stuff from it is hard, it's more like autopilot doing what the instructions say.

Also, no skipping lessons, so no learning new stuff if you learned anything off Codecademy.

There's an anthology of Speculative Fiction stories by trans authors coming out next month and I'm on it, alongside 24 other amazing authors!!

It's called Meanwhile, Elsewhere and you can pre-order it now.

PROTOTYPIZITÄT

sorry I had this word in my head and needed to yell it

(I don't have any rhetoric to go along with this, just wanted to point out that the way it's done in english and other indo-european languages is by no means the default)

every white dot on this map represents a language that doesn't make gender distinctions in its pronouns wals.info/feature/44A#2/16.7/1

how weird and interesting would it be to speak a language that does this mastodon.social/media/vmDmI7TU thinking about how it would feel to be a trans person using the correct inclusive first person pronoun for themselves and their interlocutor(s) for the first time
