Google's new mobile OS project, Fuchsia
So #Google is apparently building a brand new #mobile OS, possibly to replace #Android. This will mean dumping #Linux and the attendant open source licenses. The #UI ideas sound interesting but I have to say I have a bad feeling about all of this.
Decent writeup at Ars Technica:

Feels a lot like Mastodon meta

Also the next item on my to do list is "play video games" but I think I'm going to procrastinate that a bit
Can't tell #duolingolore from the inspiring little quotes on my tea bags, the ones that are unbelievably infuriating

anyone doing custom styles for mastodon instances or interested in that here is a heads up:
https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/pull/2912
is now merged in master
and work on https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/pull/2416
is ongoing. it has been closed but it will return!
seems there may be some issues with 2912, related to customization, as seen here
https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/2922
no idea how things will be in next tagged ver, so just a status update i guess?!

When I got into language learning things a few years ago I'd never have thought that I'd ever prefer Anki over Memrise, but yeah, no, I don't know what could make me use Memrise anymore. (Okay, well, I do – a really good "course" / set of flashcards that someone else made and that I have no issue with and that I find by accident because looking for things on Memrise is hell.)
