I'd also like to point out that I didn't pay enough attention to these things until I saw someone's tweets today about how this is not working for them, at all.

And that is one way that exclusion happens, when you don't take issues that you know about theoretically THAT serious, because you are not personally affected.

Still, as of now, individual users are responsible for making this service accessible to them, because the default is one that is hard or impossible to read for many people, and there is no built-in way to change these things. There is talk about all of this on Github, so I am hopeful. But really, right now, this is… not a good situation.

To sum up the replies (thank you so much, everyone!), so far no instance recommendations, but:

Tusky (Android client) has a light theme and uses Android's font size settings (thanks @frankiesaxx @Amaury @Jules)

@Jules haha, irgendwie schon :D haben ein paar Leute damit angefangen und ich fand es lustig. Gab auch den Vorschlag, sowas zu Links zum Twitter-Profil zu machen.

okay let's see if there are already enough #knitters on here.

I need 3.5 mm needles with sharp tips for lace #knitting
They need to be very lightweight.
They should be available in Europe.

Knit Pro Zings are a pain for #lace knitting.

Any suggestions?

@maunzikation @Amaury in addition you can adjust font size in Android's Eingabehilfen, works in tusky

@maunzikation
I don't know any instance but I'm using the Tusky app and you can change the colors for white BG with black text!

@frankiesaxx some of them don't work, but userstyles.org/styles/136214/h does and that's cool! i hope that works for this person. sad that it's only possible with userstyles so far, but good that there is at least one :)

@maunzikation I made this style ages ago but I think it still works: userstyles.org/styles/136214/h It can do black-on-white or white-on-black.

I haven't done anything with font sizes but that might be possible

Does anyone know an instance that uses black text on white background (or similar)? And a larger font size? Or are there any Stylish things for that? Asking bc of someone who wanted to try mastodon and can't use it with the default theme

Mastodon only the character limit is 0 and the text input box is replaced with a drawing pad.

On a side note, I’d like to chime in on this whole 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 thing, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 I’ve 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 it a chance to 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. As an experienced 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿, I think 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 is terribly irritating.

This whole abandoning of 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is terribly rediculous. It’d be like trying to 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀. Obviously the people who 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 are not true 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀.

Yes it is true that I want to look more masculine but also… masculine as in "cat boys in pastel hoodies that have extra space for their ears" and I'm not sure where or how to get that kind of ears

menstruation

on birbsite I started calling it blutapokalypse which translates to blood apocalypse and i think that's beautiful

anyway, the blood apocalypse is near and i don't know if my extreme lack of energy is more because of that or more because last week or more because the usual depression stuff

i would very much like to be able to do things other than being melodramatic some time soon 🐈
