forced dark mode is great if you hate people with astigmatism

Light mode is an accessibly feature and if you intentionally don't add a light mode version of your site, its less accessible to people.

"Who tf uses light mode?" I DO!!! it increases my mood in general and also makes things unironically easier to read. Do not skip on light mode

realising also that as a professional and recreational computer toucher another one of my issues against gen/agentic AI is that it's a tool to make people touch the computer _less_. why would you want that? either touch the computer or don't, stop getting something else to do it for you and saying it's the best thing in the world

instead of burning down the library of alexandria we just started replacing bookshelves with retail aisles but people still call it the library for some reason

if you "know how polarising using AI for this is but it's helping bring [your] vision to life" then you have very little regard for what your vision actually is

spoilers for aforementioned story

@suricrasia the soft-reveal (since it's in plain view the whole time) that you can view edit histories right at the very end is brilliant

i am also vague posting about the same thing everybody else is

So (cough) remember how I said I needed to quit taking in more Golfshrine inventory? I packed up the shelf contents into boxes? ...That just got a bit more complicated, because I somehow still took in more inventory. Acquisitions and news in this month's update:

oh you manually edited the config to make j-link load a bin instead? well now hang on there buckaroo i have to overwrite your config file real quick because it's automatically generated by cbuild

your project output is an axf right? righto send the axf to the j-link

what was that? the j-link exited with an error? Not my problem

Show thread

i hate setting up dev environments what do you MEAN the CMSIS toolbox defaults to generating an AXF and then when you pick J-Link as a debugger it just straight up tells the J-Link to load an AXF instead of a BIN when it can't DO THAT!! i just want to have a word with whoever made the arm keil studio real quick please i promise i won't incapacitate you too permanently

she hewlett on my packard till i reverse polish notation

it's also just a good way to get a good deal on ipod because i imagine snootier collectors look down on pre engraved ones so they sell cheaper

Reading about an early 90s tech exec complaining that public schools aren't replacing their old PCs with new ones fast enough for her company's bottom line, and suggests maybe we need to get rid of public schools and replace them with private schools that can afford new PCs that use her CD-ROMs.

So no, this BS didn't start with AI.

Delphi has never changed.

If you took a Delphi developer who only knows modern Delphi, and sat them down in front of Borland Delphi for Windows running on Windows 3.1, they would be able to make hello world in about 10 seconds.

The user experience has remained fundamentally unchanged for over 30 years.

They designed a thing that worked, and it has stood the test of time.

Meanwhile, your android phone moves some button to a different place every few months, and adds three new gestures, one of which you won't discover until a year or so later.

but hey the haptics can play the wilhelm scream now
