I don’t get the argument that employers can’t afford to pay $15/hr. That’s the value of labor. If I can’t afford a Porsche, then I can’t get a Porsche. I don’t get to demand a discount on Porsches. If a business can’t afford labor, that’s on *the business,* not the labor market.

same sentiment why i'm never going to stop calling myself queer, no matter what the current wave of tumblr users (i say that having been an early 2010s tumblr teen) think i should it shouldn't call myself

I'm still mad about it. I didn't get chased by guys yelling dyke, or have to physically step between an asshole and my butch partners more times than I can count while they yell "fucking dykes" at us, and then be told by a 20 something not to use the word dyke in my book.

still, i think this is a good start. and i can still buy more of those fine point pens since they're much cheaper than trying to source new old stock for this plotter

Show thread

looks like drawing is still an issue even with the DTR->CTS improvement. i think the printer doesn't tell the computer to hold for long enough while drawing circles, only lines for some reason

after a while the pen stopped working, i think the ink still isn't being fed properly

fourth prototype, now attaches a small length of the ballpoint ink tube as well. unfortunately the larger hole to accommodate the ink tube made the tip a little crooked and loose, so it still needs adjustments. because of it being loose it doesn't always properly touch the paper

Show thread

right now it still needs refinement (i think after the ink in the ballpoint tip alone dries out, i don't think it reaches the cotton inkwell to replenish, and i don't think these tips work with the same capillary action the original ones do) but after a very quick test it works

i have potentially developed a method of creating brand new pens for ALPS plotters only reusing the old metal casings (possibly able to 3d print those as well, but tried an easier method first)

ballpoint is taken from inexpensive new 0.7mm fine tip pens, held in 3d printed cap

To recap: Apple is okay with iOS apps that allow access to many games, but only if those games are created by creators and not developed by developers.

i have no idea how they connected a 13 year old project, one i don't think i ever publicly released a ROM for, which has my deadname in it, to a current email address, and i'm really curious as to how

Show thread

i just got an email from a company wanting to include my two (one unfinished and unreleased) very poorly-coded sega mega drive homebrews i made 13 years ago at age 14 in their revolutionary new online retro homebrew marketplace for the raspberry pi

fascinating

i think a lot of the disgust toward pride and desire to make it more family friendly is just people who don't want to see queer humans who are fat, old and visibly trans showing off their bodies in a way that's comfortable and full of self love
