1. it's easy to "hate CSS" if you misinterpret the function of a styling sheet with the layout purpose of the DOM
2. CSS standards have gone downhill since the engineering cirxlejerk that believes <center> is bad while CSS offers no suitable replacement

update on this project: the images i wanted to load would take too long on older machines i.e. XT-class or 286 without FPU. so i learnt some x86 assembly and how to make quickbasic libraries in order to speed those up.
