my girlfriend's drip coffee maker has a clock in it and if it's not set it flashes 12:00 like a vcr and i think that's beautiful

i'm listening to cool music and drinking a cool can of monster and i fixed some bugs in a converter tool i wrote and now i'm pushing some pixels and it's a good day for me

not to bang on this drum over and over but like, meds to try and soothe fibro pain and food that's easy to make on low energy days cost money, quite a lot of money, just being honest

hi my girlfriend @Atatra is disabled living with fibromyalgia and neither of us can get a job and it would really mean a lot to us if you made good on supporting queer women by sending some cash our way if you can ko-fi.com/atatra74149

i know i haven't released much new material in like 2 years but i still think the old stuff is good give it a listen and maybe toss some cash my way thanks transbian.bandcamp.com/album/h

I think that would make sense for how I approach fedi as well. Because people see me as being vocal to the point of excess about like issues fedi has, and think I'm doing too much meta/drama posting, but for me it's what comes naturally to me and makes the most sense to me. I can't be in any network or any community and just accept the bad things for how they are.

I heard once that its an autism thing to be incapable of *not* calling out injustice or unethical things and trying to address them because it's what makes the most sense rather than swallowing your emotions

And this is often what gets us in trouble at jobs and makes moving up hard, because we can't stay in line, at least not without it being extremely painful.
I can't blame certain admins for going from "fun pleroma instance" to "we need to be strict in order to maintain federation" but: consider that forcing your users to be inauthentic for the sake of Mastodon admins who cancel you in bad faith, is not healthy for your space to grow into itself.

You'll be held to higher and higher standards and still end up blackmailed by those you're trying to please, and you'll lose good users.

Disqordia went through this too, I once tried to be the Good Admin™, keeping up a perfect instance block list, pulling users aside to ask them not to do certain things, and it really didn't make Disq any better or prevent anyone from disliking us because they don't actually care that we block who we're "supposed to" or take the actions they want us to.

Dont fall for it. Just be yourself and let your users be themselves. Even when there's issues. Even when there's arguments.
You can disagree with the fediblock protest, but it objectively did work to get the heat off of jorts.horse, who were being targeted for two easily ignorable joke posts on fediblock.

Now the anger is dispersed among all of us who showed solidarity for them and they are less targeted.

You may not understand or agree, but you can't deny the results. If solidarity efforts piss you off, that's a personal problem you should deal with.

"You can't hoard princesses!" the knights shouted.
"I don't," said the dragon. "Tima, for instance, is a farmer."
"That's not what... You keep them looked in!"
"The lock is on the inside."
"What?"
"They're not locked in. You're locked out."
"They can't do that!"
"I see why, now."

game journalists on twitter from the kotaku sphere acting like they’re above criticism & never done wrong is really crushing me today so i will share this here. it’s all i can do:

i think i will always be in the shadow of what they did to me and how they controlled the narrative about that. at least i kept proof.

kinda hurts to make a post asking for donations and get literally a single boost from my girlfriend, and not only no donations, but no views at all on my ko-fi page. it's literally more compelling to harass people online than to be disabled
