@SArpnt those are good points!
i used to post about cool stuff more. #webgbcam and #ditherinator and #lesbiaboard. things i'm working on and things i'm building.
the bad feels posts come from those being largely ignored. rsd hurts
ok #ditherinator (still 0.4 no version change) should now have a polyfill that takes care of rendering issues in #safari that caused the pre-process sliders to not affect the image
#chrome still isn't, and will not be, supported

hi for my build date anniversary i'd love for people to play with #webgbcam and #ditherinator and show me the cool pictures they make with them thank you
i wonder if there's anything at all i could do to rekindle interest/popularity in #webgbcam and #ditherinator or if it's just a case of every single person in the world who could've found out about them already has and nobody will share anything about them anymore
#lesbiaboard version 1.4 is out and live! 🎉

i'm not going to say that forcing myself to either post or work on #lesbiaboard every single day has single-handedly restored my joie de vivre but it's been 3 days and i feel like an entire dark cloud has cleared above my circuits
31 years ago was a sad day. It was the day Commodore declared bankruptcy. What went wrong for Commodore? It's simple. And it's complicated. And mostly Irving Gould's fault. #Retrocomputing https://dfarq.homeip.net/why-commodore-went-bankrupt-in-1994/
Maybe it's a little cliche but somehow creating games feel like the ultimate escape from reality for a bit
The only limit is your imagination and there is no one who can set rules or decide whatever you can do or not
If people don't like they simply don't have to play it
It's just enormous fun creating such worlds and giving it away for free makes it the ultimate f-you against modern day gaming studios who are only in it for the money
The Fosstodon situation is exhibit number one million in how not to respond to community concerns. Like, a lot of people think you can just run an online community.
You can't.
Community management is a real job that requires a real and rare skill set, and odds are you do not have the skills necessary to effectively run an online community. I've worked with community managers. A good CM makes all the difference.
If you run a large instance, then hire a professional CM, for pete's sake.
@ariadne "It's not a Nazi bar because the Nazi left for the night after having a few drinks."
and while i am generally not in the business of telling other admins how to run their instances, dare i say it the only acceptable response to "hey, you have a fascist mod on your staff" is to immediately fire that mod and then do a retrospective to figure out how that happened.
