i don't know, maybe i'm just waxing nostalgic. i host a queer-oriented web1.0 forum but it hardly ever sees any traffic at all, which is a shame

i don't like the current model. i wish we could turn away from it but everybody else is here, where else would i go to talk to anyone?

was it better? absolutely not, there was just as much people fighting over words on a screen back then. the entire world will hardly ever coexist peacefully, solving that is the billion dollar question.

but it sure helped keep things a little more insulated against major crises
