discord android is a joke followed by discord linux and there are still people who would rather pay for this than use free alternatives

"discord is better than skype" just this morning in a span of little over an hour discord already silently disconnected an ongoing call without rhyme or reason no less than three times

i guess if i remove the battery myself i won't need to clear personal data off the tablet first, removing the need to power it on to do that. but i still need to heat it up in order to soften the screen adhesive to get the battery out, which is still scary. suggestions?

note that i cannot find a replacement battery in my country (lesser problem, since i just want to get rid of the bulging one first, but it's indicative no stores here are prepared to repair it) and i am not going to go to a physical cellphone repair store during a pandemic

the only way to take the battery out of this tablet is by heating up the adhesive that holds the screen in place to pry it apart, and heat is likely going to cause the already swelling battery to catch fire. so what am i supposed to do?!

is it safe to power on (not charge) a device with a bulging lithium battery?

i have a non-serviceable tablet i want to factory reset before i send it off to either be disposed or refurb. as soon as i noticed it bulging i shut it off, would it be safe to power on again for that?

discord was shitty capitalist way before looking for a buyer, folks. nitro sucks and causes userbase disparity with animated emoji and stickers locked off to the upper classes. it was never good, don't pretend this is surprising news

discord needs to change. this will either change it for better or for worse. evolution cycle baybee

i'm actually grimly hopeful for this:

- best case scenario, M$ makes discord better. teams is a pretty good platform, they already know how to do VoIP, screen sharing and presenting right.
- worst case scenario, M$ shits the bed with it and everybody migrates to something better

that's beside the point about stallman being a rape and pedophilia apologist though

GPL is a harmful license and i refuse to use it on my projects or contribute to GPL-licensed code where i can help it
