it was addressed to "Mavica" and it's baffling me trying to figure out who from the UK would have my address to ship me something and not have my legal name to do it with

a mystery we'll probably solve in 10 to 40 business days once payment clears and the post gets it to me

so i just found out (because nobody was picking up the mail while i was out of the country) that i got a notice from the post office two weeks ago that i have a package from UK waiting for dispatch to be paid on so i can receive it. only it wasn't addressed to our legal name...

this happened a long time ago but a lot of mutuals are still friends with the person in question and it still upsets me sorry i just hate internet microcelebrities pulling rank

everybody gets to tell off Chinese manufacturers for using 3.3v chips in counterfeit cartridges for 5v home console systems but warning someone in a large-following tech discord about the different voltages between RS232 and TTL gets you a shunning from tech twitter

this is, by far, the most useful case i have found for my pocketchip

stuff about me: there's a server (disused laptop) in my bedroom with a Node host which compiles Processing code into Java binaries and puts it in an NFS mount to a PocketChip which is then told via SSH to run the binary so it acts as a desk-living programmable "screensaver"

thinking about how i pass so well one of my manager's first questions to me the first day we were returning to office and meeting me in person the first time was commenting on my height and therefore asking when i had my first period, because surely i must've been a late bloomer
