after a lot of chasing my tail looking at forum posts and documentation setting the "auto_mic=0" hint is what i wanted BUT nobody tells you straightforward how to do it THANKFULLY i stumbled upon hdajackretask being able to do this for me, and now the problem is solved
good morning i'm trying to understand kernel firmware documentation badly explaining how a patch file must be written in order for me to be able to keep using my laptop's internal microphone when i plug in my headset because of course it's never that easy with linux

replacing pulseaudio with pipewire helped
has anyone ever fixed bluetooth a2dp on linux completely disabling output when there's a silence and taking a full second of (lost) audio to re-enable or is the solution really just "use arch to get a newer version of pulseaudio than 2020 that has the fix"
