after a lot of chasing my tail looking at forum posts and documentation setting the "auto_mic=0" hint is what i wanted BUT nobody tells you straightforward how to do it THANKFULLY i stumbled upon hdajackretask being able to do this for me, and now the problem is solved

has anyone ever fixed bluetooth a2dp on linux completely disabling output when there's a silence and taking a full second of (lost) audio to re-enable or is the solution really just "use arch to get a newer version of pulseaudio than 2020 that has the fix"
