i already wrote the converter from famitracker to sabre.... surely it can't be that hard !!!!!!!!

Show thread

orrrr, i wonder if i make a converter between furnace's text export and the MML MDSDRV expects :thinkhappy:

Show thread

let's see how i get on with everything else, and i'll worry about the sound driver later

maybe 2025 will be the year i actually use MML for something

Show thread

aha, found the caveat, SFX is PCM only, if you want FM/PSG SFX you need to use other sound drivers entirely and those need to be composed in MML

Show thread

oh, wow, making sound tracks and including them into a SGDK project and playing them is way easier than i'd expected. last time i tried to do SMS/SMD homebrew VGM was a completely impractical format for homebrew and you had to roll out your music in MML format for best data compression

(about C code) i don't get the practice of putting header files in a completely separate folder from the source files. it makes a codebase way more disorieting to follow to me

not immune to propaganda? you're damn right i want to have a proper gander at her!

ai is the new nft is the new blockchain is the new 3d is the new piano black

although piano black is less a scam and more a trend i didn't like but i think it fits in with irresistible fads

I have just sent to @iftas and @nivenly each a separate Github issue, each entitled “Stop platforming transphobic abusers who send us death threats”, about the person they platform who did that to me, after I criticized his attitudes regarding fellow trans people and fellow survivors of rape.

Both issues are very similar in content: in both cases, I ask them to deplatform a man who abused the Queer Fedi community for too long. A simple gesture to signal their intent to listen to our community.

This is the one I sent Nivenly:

https://github.com/nivenly/community/issues/8

This is the one I sent IFTAS:

https://github.com/iftas-org/lote/issues/17

I have taken archival snapshots of the issues on third-party archival services, as a possible deletion would constitute a form of antagonistic reply.

Queer people are advised to remember that emoji reactions such as thumbs up and thumbs down are NOT anonymous on Github, and prioritize their safety.

Fedi, if i made a blocklist of every person with financial ties to the companies that platform the guy who sent me death threats, would you find it useful?

It would work much like the blocklist of trans women the guy who took issue with me for defending fellow rape survivors assembled - no appeals.

Since social adjacency was enough to exclude trans women from the Fediverse, I think it’s fair we protect our community the same way.

Reading the autobiography of my idol, Alberto Santos=Dumont.

He was a Brazilian inventor who designed and flew the first practical airplane.

The Wright Bros achieved the first powered, heavier than air flight. A huge deal! Alberto met & collaborated with them, and used their wing warping system for his plane.

But the Wright Bros flyer could only launch from a rail. It had to be retrieved and rolled back to the starting point.

Alberto's could land in any flat field and take off again.

Wanted: a patched phone operating system which instead of having permissions for apps returns them all random data, unless I have allowed them access to the real thing.

Randomly generated address books, location coordinates, WiFi network names, picture folders full of noise, battery levels that fluctuate wildly.

Fucking poison the data gathering well. Make it looks pretty realistic. My phone has enough storage and compute to create realistic looking names and telephone numbers. Let the advertisers think I'm traveling back and forth on the Orient express.

once again my circuits are trying to convince me endives are a type of fish. gotta debug the database one of these days
