@drahardja there is a distressing tendency to reward those who respond to a disaster, while ignoring those who do the difficult work of preventing a disaster. The latter is so much harder to see, and also so much more challenging...

@mavica_again I can totally understand that, I remember holding Skype in pretty high regard when it came to the technical side, even now as I'm pretty sure that technology from Skype is underpinning the calls/meeting functionality in Teams that I've been using a lot the last few years

I guess I just didn't have many friends on Skype back then and when they added more bloat I didn't see the reason to stay

Making and posting little things and bring me joy cuz my brain has a habit of focusing on the things that make me sad. This is number 1 (out of hopefully many more lol)

Ref sheet of our little magical girl, since I haven't quite gotten her design down yet. Not quite sure about her name, I do have a candidate in mind but any suggestions are welcome~

@mavica_again not sure I trust M$ to provide a nice experience, I remember how bloated they made Skype after they bought it, It's the same thing they keep doing to Windows and Edge.

This is probably the best thing I ever posted on Twitter. The memory is pretty dear to me; I'm sharing it here so it still exists somewhere if that place collapses.

The fascists love to demonize queer ppl for "making everything about sex" or "making their gender their whole personality" but every time I go to a queer event I am struck by how precisely they have this backwards. Cis society is profoundly sexualized, and literally every interaction is pre-coded with assumed gender. In a queer space, you purposefully never make assumptions about who someone is or what they're up to, so interactions are much *less* coded by gender and *less* intronsically sexual

I timed AFTER THE THIN MAN on Max (formerly HBO Max) so the new year would strike simultaneously on film and in real life.

After it did, I paused. When I restarted, I got this message.

A good reminder for 2024: physical media doesn’t disappear at midnight.

#FilmMastodon #PhysicalMedia

the year is 2024. A bunch of music has fallen out of copyright, but you can’t actually use it because none of the automated enforcement systems know that
