I just realized that I think you can break my hardware-in-the-loop test by setting up too many WIFI routers near our testing lab.

that's probably something I should fix

Smoking a cigarette as I bring developers into my office to administer the Complexity Voight-Kampff test. My inflection is flat as I as start to speak. “You’re in Slack. You see a team architecting a new app around Kubernetes. An engineer proposes simple tools to manage the process instead. They want to convince them, but they can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that, Leon?” They shoot me dead from under the table every time.

it's been one day back in the classroom and i've already had to explain to multiple students that they shouldn't come to class if they are covid positive. when i die please don't blame my students, blame my employer for absolutely failing to foster an environment of covid safety in any way

Hi! If you're finding me, this is a stress test of the ActivityPub ecosystem's IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) support.

It isn't great! The software works fine, but mentioning this account on Pleroma/Akkoma right now is impossible with Markdown, unless you change the TLD to Hiragana (minna in romaji)

Other software seems to handle it alright, switching between without effort.

IDNs are rare; you likely will never see this in the wild! The whole "xn--" prefix is by design, this is how the internet "ASCII"-ifies domains that aren't plain ASCII.

I am not breaking your instance. Your client is fine. It's doing its best. Even if it adds an emoji.

Love you~

"technology is real when americans announce making it" vs "technology is real when you can get it off alibaba at all price ranges"

@anarchiv "average person owns 14 Thinkpads" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person only has 1 Thinkpad. Thinkpad Hans, who lives in Stuttgart & owns over 10000 Thinkpads, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

the oceangate claim of "we used carbon fibre from boeing" suddenly makes a lot more sense, huh

“the side fell off” catching up on recent alaska airlines flights on tiktok

I've appropriately adjusted my expectations for this sushi restaurant.

properly defined guides and standards like these are why not only floss but any graphic-design-is-my-passion "material" "design" UI will never beat windows 95

It's incredible how much space is given to a few people in motor vehicles vs so many more people on foot or wheels. It's a vast inequity.

Nowhere is this more stark than #ShibuyaCrossing; the world's busiest pedestrian crossing with as many as 3,000 people crossing at a time. Compared to around 12 cars fromone direction of the junction in one sequence. #Urbanism #CitiesForPeople
