@foone so, antennas need to radiate photons. An antenna is "just" an arrangement of components that turns a changing electrical stimulus into enough of an electric/magnetic field flux that it emits photons.

Anything can radiate photons. Yes, people have hooked up bed springs and lightbulbs to HF radios to emit shortwave frequencies.

It's a question of what's in phase, what's out of phase, and how much is radiated versus reflected back down the antenna versus converted into heat.

I know it's folly to try to understand RF, which is all obscure magic, but one part I thought I understood was that frequency and antenna size were correlated, right?

but I got a pile of 433mhz transmitters and receivers, which have different sized antennas.

Isn't transmitting and receiving symmetric? wouldn't you need the same size antennas?

I've owned this old, beat-up Callaway Big Bertha golf club for months. Only today did I get around to doing what I actually meant to do with it when I bought it.

Man in my 50s here. Have started telling the important people in my life that I love them every time I see them. The embaressment, especially with the men, might shave a year or two off my life but I'm not stopping now. If I drop dead tomorrow they'll at least know how I felt.

In a job interview I was asked what I'd like to be remembered for. I responded that I had no desire to be remembered. My main takeaway from a BA and MA in history is that people in history books are villains or victims and I didn't want to be either. Didn't get the job.
